Reunion Dinner 08

Friday 13th June

Places are available for the reunion dinner. The format sticks to the 'tried and tested' drinks in Pepys Cloisters at 7pm followed by a 3 course meal in Hall. The college bar may well be called upon afterwards too... Please do come along as it is a splendid way to support the club and re-live those moments in College.

A list of those coming will be posted shortly

MBC Garden Party

Sunday 15th June, 5pm, Magdalene Fellows Garden

Dear Friends

As some of you may know, this is MBC's 180th year, and to mark this anniversary, we will be hosting a garden party in college after the end of this year's Mays. We hope to see as many of you there as possible to share in the celebration of all past (and future!) successes. More details will be confirmed nearer the time.

As part of this celebration of MBC rowing, we hope to bring together a display of the history of the club for the garden party. To make this as encompassing and as personal to the club as possible we need your help. Anecdotes, crew lists, trophies, medals, photos, race reports, anything which can help us piece together the rich history of our club is welcomed (and will be returned after the party!).

So have a rifle through cupboards, find those pieces of memorabilia which have been lurking in the attic, and above all, just sit yourself down and reminisce about your time in the MBC in letter-form, whether you graced the heights of Henley or rowed over all week in the 5th Mays boat. With the club & Friends we have, we're confident we'll have a brilliant display of our history to celebrate and from which to look to the future.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any contributions, ideas or queries you have, by post at Magdalene or by email at rhi20@cam.ac.uk.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Best wishes

Robyn Inglis

Mays Marquee 16th June

Dear Stewards and Friends of MBC

The MBC Marquee Experience is all set to roll on Saturday 16th June from 12 noon until the last race in Caius Meadow.

The Master and Mrs Robinson have enthusiastically embraced the catering contract and the FoMBC are generously providing the liquid refreshments. The Big Punt is booked for the ferry crossing for MBC and its guests.

Parents and guests of MBC will need hosting, so please come and join us and bring a guest or two.

Access is via Fen Ditton; past the Ancient Shepherds; keep left of the War Memorial and fork right into Jesus Field for cash parking. Regret that Caius Meadow car passes are very restricted as always - the farmer is concerned for his precious grass for his cows...

See you there!

Bedford Amateur Regatta

MBC win the Championship 8's plate final at Bedford beating Tit Hall, Pembroke and Clare in the final round. See the video here

New Patron

After many years of support Lady Calcutt (Lady C) has decided to step down as Patron of the club, however we would all like to welcome Lady Gurdon (Lady G!) as our new patron. Lady G is no stranger to the rowing ways as can be seen from the photo here with Dr Pat Marsh and the Ospreys.
